Arsenal moved three points clear at the top of the Premier League table after Leandro Trossard’s second-half strike secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
The Belgian forward, who had been searching for his first league goal of the season, delivered at a crucial moment to hand Mikel Arteta’s men their fifth consecutive win across all competitions and extend their unbeaten run to eight matches.
Earlier in the day, Manchester City’s 2-0 win over Everton had briefly lifted Pep Guardiola’s side to first place, but Arsenal reclaimed top spot with a professional, if unspectacular, display by the River Thames.
Arsenal, who are chasing their first Premier League title since 2004, have now won six of their opening eight games this season, underlining their growing consistency and confidence.
Fulham made a bright start, with Harry Wilson nearly creating an early opener for Raul Jimenez, whose effort was pushed away by goalkeeper David Raya.
Moments later, Wilson almost punished a misplaced pass from Gabriel Magalhaes, curling his shot just wide of the far post.
Despite Fulham’s early pressure, Arsenal gradually took control of possession and found their breakthrough through Trossard’s composed finish — enough to keep their title ambitions firmly on course.
