Cape Verde have etched their name in football history after becoming the second smallest country ever to qualify for the FIFA World Cup.
With a population of just over 500,000, the island nation achieved the remarkable feat following a 3–0 victory over Eswatini in their final qualifying match.
The historic win sealed their place at the global tournament and saw them finish top of their group, ahead of African football giants Cameroon, who were left in second place.
This milestone marks a new chapter for Cape Verdean football, showcasing the country’s growing strength and resilience on the international stage.
