Chandler Moore and Naomi Raine Announce Exit From Maverick City Music

Two of the leading members of Grammy-winning worship collective Maverick City Music, Chandler Moore and Naomi Raine, have officially announced their departure from the group.

Both artists revealed their decisions on Monday, October 6, through separate statements shared on social media, confirming that they will continue to pursue solo music and ministry.

Chandler Moore Bids Emotional Farewell

Chandler Moore described his exit as a “bittersweet decision,” explaining that his focus has shifted toward personal growth and new creative directions.

“These last two years I’ve been locked in on what really matters — in my life and my career,” Moore wrote. “It’s been scary at times, but it’s also been full of fresh vision and real excitement about the future. With that, I’ve made the bittersweet decision to end my relationship with Maverick City Music.”

Moore reflected on how much the group meant to him, expressing gratitude for the journey they shared.

“When we started Mav, I was grateful to have community and belonging while fulfilling my dream of making music that would help people experience God. And we did that… in ways I couldn’t have imagined,” he added.

He described the departure as “almost like saying goodbye to your own kid,” but assured fans that his mission remains unchanged.

“My dream hasn’t changed. I’m stepping into this next phase ready to share my story and make music that helps people feel a little more human, a little more understood, and a little less alone.”

Naomi Raine Expresses Gratitude and Faith in New Chapter

Naomi Raine also took to social media to share that her time with Maverick City Music had come to an end after “a lot of prayer and consideration.”

“Being a part of Mav truly changed my life! What started as a group of folks singing in a shed has turned into something I could’ve never even imagined!” she wrote.

Raine said she believes God is calling her into a new phase of her musical and spiritual journey.

“Now I believe God has given me the green light to step into what He’s calling me to do individually. Still writing. Still singing. Still worshipping and leading others in worship — just on my own. This isn’t really an ending, but a new beginning.”

She added that she is “excited about the music, the ministry, and the purpose ahead,” affirming that “God’s not done yet.”

End of an Era for Maverick City Music

Maverick City Music, known for hits like Jireh, Promises, and Man of Your Word, has redefined modern worship music with its collaborative approach and heartfelt performances. The departure of Moore and Raine — two of its founding and most recognizable members — marks a significant transition for the group.

Both artists are expected to continue releasing new music and leading worship independently, while fans worldwide continue to celebrate their legacy with Maverick City Music.
