#FreeNnamdiKanuNow: Court Grants Bail to Sowore, Others Arrested During Protest

Sowore Accuses Police Cameraman of Stealing AI Smart Glasses During Protest

An Abuja Magistrate Court has granted bail to activist Omoyele Sowore and several others who were arrested during Monday’s #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest.

Among those released on bail are Prince Emmanuel Kanu, brother to detained IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu, and Aloy Ejimakor, one of Kanu’s lawyers.

Sowore, a well-known activist and publisher, was arrested by police on Thursday shortly after leaving the Federal High Court in Abuja, where he had attended proceedings. His arrest was reportedly linked to his role in leading the demonstration demanding the release of Nnamdi Kanu.

The court had earlier, on Tuesday, remanded Kanu’s brother, Ejimakor, and 11 other protesters for allegedly inciting public disturbance during the protest.

With the new ruling, all the detained individuals have now been granted bail, though the specific terms of their release were not immediately disclosed.
