Following his four-year prison sentence, music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has requested to serve his time at a low-security federal prison in New Jersey.
Diddy’s attorney, Teny Geragos, submitted a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian, asking the court to recommend that the Bad Boy Records founder be placed at Fort Dix Federal Correctional Institution.
According to Geragos, the facility would allow Diddy to work on his drug rehabilitation, while also enabling family visitations and other rehabilitative efforts.
The request also emphasized the rapper’s safety concerns, following claims that someone had allegedly plotted to stab him while in custody.
Fort Dix has previously housed several high-profile inmates, including Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Teresa and Joe Giudice.
While Judge Subramanian can issue a recommendation, the final decision rests with the Bureau of Prisons, which determines where inmates are ultimately placed.
Diddy, who has been incarcerated for over a year at MDC Brooklyn, is awaiting confirmation on whether his request will be granted.
