British singer-songwriter FKA Twigs says she is focused on moving forward with her life after settling her sexual battery lawsuit against actor Shia LaBeouf.
Twigs, born Tahliah Barnett, filed the lawsuit in December 2020, accusing LaBeouf of sexual battery, assault, and emotional abuse during their relationship between 2018 and 2019.
Following years of legal back-and-forth, both parties reached a private settlement in July 2025, just two months before the scheduled September trial.
In a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, FKA Twigs admitted that while the settlement closed a painful chapter, it has not brought her a full sense of security.
“No, I wouldn’t say I feel safe,” she said, explaining that her focus is now on helping other survivors of domestic abuse.
She revealed her involvement with organizations such as Sistah Space and No More, emphasizing that her energy is now directed toward advocacy and healing:
“I feel really passionate about being involved with organisations… to help survivors in any way that I can. I think it’s less about me at this point and more about looking forward. Just, you know, moving on with my life.”
In July, the pair issued a joint statement confirming the settlement, noting that while details remain private, they “wish each other personal happiness, professional success, and peace in the future.”
Since then, FKA Twigs has moved on and is currently dating director and photographer Jordan Hemingway. LaBeouf, meanwhile, rekindled his relationship with actress Mia Goth in 2021, and the couple welcomed their first child in March 2022.
