Veteran Nollywood actress Ireti Doyle has expressed her frustration with the increasing toxicity on social media, revealing that the negativity has become too overwhelming for her peaceful personality.
In an Instagram post, the 58-year-old shared that she had once again taken a break from the platform, writing:
“I used to wonder what I’d do with myself once I become an ‘empty nester’… Now I know. 🤭
Had to disappear again…
The streets of SM (nay, the world in general) is becoming too toxic for my quiet soul.
How have you been … I hope you’re protecting yourself? ♥️”
Her post marked a quiet return to Instagram after a brief hiatus, prompting fans to welcome her back while agreeing with her concerns about the rising negativity online.
Ireti Doyle, best known for her roles in The Wedding Party, Tinsel, and Fifty, has been vocal about the importance of mental wellness and protecting one’s peace.
In 2023, she confirmed her separation from her husband, veteran broadcaster and actor Patrick Doyle, stating that she had moved on with her life. Since then, the actress has focused on her career and personal growth.
