Renowned Nigerian music video director ThankGod Omori Jesam, popularly known as TG Omori, has opened up about how choosing celibacy has reshaped his life. The 29-year-old, known for his groundbreaking visuals in Afrobeats, said the decision has eased many of his personal struggles.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, Omori revealed that embracing celibacy has brought him peace and clarity.
“Since I took my oath of celibacy, half of my problems were solved,” he wrote.
His statement immediately sparked conversations across social media. While some fans applauded his discipline, others questioned whether such a lifestyle could be sustained within the fast-paced entertainment industry.
Career and Industry Impact
Omori’s revelation comes as he continues to dominate Nigeria’s creative scene. Starting his directing journey as a teenager, he later trained at PEFTI Film Institute. Today, he is one of the most sought-after music video directors in Africa, working with global stars such as Wizkid, Burna Boy, Davido, Olamide, Asake, and Naira Marley.

Health Struggles and Resilience
This isn’t the first time TG Omori has shared his personal life. In August 2024, he shared details of a major health challenge when his only brother donated a kidney to him in a transplant that unfortunately failed.
“Yesterday my only brother gave me one of his kidneys so I could live again,” he revealed at the time.
Despite the setback, Omori updated fans that he was in recovery.
“Up and grateful, O Lord. (Sadly, I can’t backflip.) Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes… I’m healing now from the stitches of the failed one, I’ll continue the fight.”
