TG Omori Raises Alarm Over Death Threats After Comment on Same-Sex Relationships

Nigerian music video director ThankGod Omori, widely known as TG Omori, has claimed that his life is being threatened following the controversy triggered by his recent comments on same-sex relationships.

Over the weekend, Omori provoked intense debate online after posting on X that “having same gender sex is evil.” The statement ignited widespread backlash across social media, drawing criticism from various quarters.

In a new post, the acclaimed cinematographer alleged that he has been receiving death threats after a magazine publication accused him of leveraging the controversy to promote eyewear.

“This is a media house trying to set me up and risk my life by gaslighting a global community they serve, to blacklist me for speaking my truth in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he wrote on X, while quoting the article published by @Zikoko_Mag.

He added that he has been inundated with death wishes and threats “day and night,” insisting that the situation has compromised his safety and wellbeing as a Nigerian citizen.

The situation continues to stir conversation online as TG Omori calls attention to what he describes as a targeted smear campaign against him.
