Popular music video director TG Omori has responded to an upcoming photographer who complained about being stopped from taking behind-the-scenes (BTS) photos on his production set.
The young man, identified as Chukwunyere, took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his disappointment after being denied access to take BTS photos during a shoot involving a “renowned Igbo artist.”
He wrote:
“Today went for a TG Omori set with a renowned Igbo artist, thought today would be a great day meeting my mentor but the production manager bounced me and said I can’t take BTS photos!! Note to self: one day the dreams will be realistic.”
Reacting to the post, TG Omori — known for directing hit visuals for the likes of Asake, Burna Boy, and Wizkid — explained that professionalism and privacy must always come first on set, regardless of ambition.
In his words:
“Even if you become the number one photographer in the world tomorrow, you have to respect people’s privacy. A closed set is a closed set. How do you expect to walk into my production set and start taking behind-the-scene images without producers’ consent because you have a dream? Talking about my dreams are valid.”
Omori’s response has since sparked mixed reactions online, with some users applauding his professionalism while others felt he could have handled the situation with more empathy.
