Popular Nigerian singer Niniola Apata has dismissed speculations claiming she is secretly married.
Rumours recently circulated that the “Maradona” crooner’s reduced public appearances were due to her alleged marriage. However, during a chat with Yanga FM Lagos, the 38-year-old clarified that she is not married and has no reason to hide her marital status.
“I don’t care whatever anyone does or says [regarding my personal life]. After all, I’m not a 12-year-old. I’m old enough to say whatever it is I want to say with my full chest. I’m not married,” she stated.
Niniola also refuted claims that she was keeping her marriage private to protect her career or bookings.
Speaking further, the singer addressed questions about why she has yet to collaborate musically with her younger sister, Teni, saying such a project would happen “at the right time and under the right circumstances.”
“Music is business,” she explained. “There’s no family in business.”
Niniola, known for her energetic performances and Afro-House sound, continues to maintain her reputation as one of Nigeria’s most consistent female artists despite her time away from the spotlight.
