“Nigeria finally happened to me” – BBNaija’s Tuoyo Ideh Alleges NDLEA Officers Assaulted Him During Lagos Nightclub Raid

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tuoyo Ideh, has accused operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) of brutalizing him during a weekend raid at Proxy Nightclub in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, reportedly saw NDLEA officials storm the popular nightclub alongside armed military personnel. The raid led to the arrest of over 100 guests, including Lagos socialite Pretty Mike.

Taking to his Instagram page on Monday night, Tuoyo shared a video recounting his ordeal. He explained that he was at the club in his capacity as a promoter after helping clients book a table when NDLEA officers invaded the venue.

According to him, despite being searched and cleared during the initial screening, he was still taken into custody and physically assaulted.

“I’m a promoter, if you see me outside, it’s because of business. I promote for different clubs. I had not even sat down for up to 30 minutes before I heard, ‘Everybody go down!’ Then I saw people in black and some military personnel.

They checked my bag, socks, and everything, but found nothing. They asked us to sit outside after 3 a.m. It was humiliating,” Tuoyo narrated.

The fitness enthusiast claimed that while in custody, NDLEA operatives ordered him to roll on the ground and beat him repeatedly with sticks. He alleged that the assault only stopped after the intervention of a female officer, who, however, still ordered him to perform frog jumps despite his visible pain.

“One officer pointed at me and said, ‘He’s the one.’ About five men rushed at me, slapped me, and one even said, ‘Na you go post abi? Shoot him.’ They kept beating me. I was rolling on the floor and gasping for air. I’ve never been beaten like that in my life,” he said.

Sharing clips of his injuries, Tuoyo expressed deep distress over the incident, saying:

“Nigeria finally happened to me. I can’t even stand or lie down properly. The pain the NDLEA officers inflicted on me after beating me like a criminal is unbearable. My whole body, legs, hands, back, and head hurt so much.”

He further condemned what he described as a violation of his human rights, adding that the intimidation and humiliation he suffered were “too much to bear.”
