President Tinubu Arrives in Benue to Address Recent Violent Attacks

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to return to Abuja today (Monday) after completing a 10-day working visit to Lagos, where he held strategic engagements with investors, industry leaders, and key national stakeholders to strengthen Nigeria’s economic and governance landscape.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President arrived in Lagos on September 26 following his attendance at the coronation of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, in Ibadan.

During his stay in Lagos, President Tinubu met with top business leaders, including Mr. Bayo Ogunlesi, Chief Executive Officer of Global Infrastructure Partners, and Mr. Hakeem Belo-Osagie, former Chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA) and Etisalat, and currently the Chairman of Metis Capital Partners.

Discussions centered on boosting investor confidence, enhancing public-private sector partnerships, and creating sustainable growth pathways for Nigeria’s economy.

The President also held a meeting with the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organisation (IMO), Mr. Arsenio Dominguez, alongside the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Mr. Adegboyega Oyetola, and other stakeholders in the maritime sector.

President Tinubu reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to developing the maritime industry as a key driver of economic diversification and a reliable source of national revenue beyond fossil energy.
