Raheem Okoya, the son of Nigerian billionaire industrialist and Eleganza Group founder Chief Rasaq Okoya, has declared that every penny he owns is a product of his personal effort and not inherited wealth.
Speaking in a recent interview on Wazobia Max Television, Raheem emphasized his independence and dedication to building his own success.
“Every penny in my account today is based on what I do, my sweat,” he stated confidently.
The 24-year-old singer and entrepreneur explained that while he hasn’t yet achieved all his goals, he remains content with his current progress.
“No be sey I dey where I wan be, but if I wan chop, I dey chop,” he added in pidgin.
Raheem’s remarks have sparked mixed reactions online, with some social media users questioning his claims of financial independence, given his privileged background as the son of one of Nigeria’s wealthiest men.
He previously made headlines after a viral video showed a police officer carrying bundles of cash for him. Following public criticism, Raheem publicly apologized, describing the incident as a “naive” mistake.
Despite the controversy, the young artist insists he is determined to carve out his own path.
“I’m comfortable. What I do can afford to feed me,” he said.
Raheem Okoya continues to pursue a career in music and entrepreneurship, striving to build a reputation separate from his father’s vast business empire.
Rasaq Okoya, his father, is the founder of the Eleganza Group, one of Nigeria’s leading manufacturers of household and consumer goods.
