BREAKING: Tinubu Removes Maryam Sanda, Others from National Pardon List

Tinubu Removes Maryam Sanda

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the removal of Maryam Sanda, who was sentenced to death in 2020 for the murder of her husband, Bilyaminu Bello, from the national pardon list.

The President also directed that the names of convicts involved in kidnapping, drug trafficking, human trafficking, fraud, and illegal arms dealings be struck out from the list.

According to reports, individuals previously granted clemency under the old list will now have their sentences reduced rather than being fully pardoned.

The move forms part of President Tinubu’s broader effort to uphold justice and accountability while ensuring that clemency decisions align with national security and ethical standards.
