Nollywood actress Bimpe Akintunde has called out women, saying many of them are often their own worst enemies.
Taking to her Instagram page, the Yoruba movie star and mother of two expressed her frustration in a passionate post written partly in Yoruba. She revealed that though she usually avoids interfering in other people’s affairs, she couldn’t stay silent on this particular issue.
“Obinrin ni ota obinrin. Looto!! I’m so angry right now! Wtfcccck.
I no dey put mouth for wetin no concern me on this app o!!! But on top of this matter, if I am allowed, I go talk oooo. Haba!!! Woman to Woman!!! Ti yin ma baje ni!!!!” she wrote.
Her post immediately drew attention and concern from colleagues and fans, prompting her to make a follow-up clarification.
In another post, Bimpe thanked her fellow actresses and friends for checking up on her after her earlier rant. She clarified that her outburst was not about her but about an older sister who is currently going through a tough time.
“Kai, una love me too much o. My sisters bombard me with calls. The rant isn’t about me, though!! Special thanks to my sisters who reached out, asking me to keep my peace. That post wasn’t for me; it’s for an older sister going through a lot at the moment. I got you, Mama, and this too shall pass.
Dear women, we can do better. Aiye o le to yen!!!! Ole ni everybody,” she added.
Bimpe Akintunde, known for her roles in Oore, Omotara Johnson, and Anaanu Mi, used the moment to urge women to support one another instead of tearing each other down.
