Lagos Government Confirms Relocation of Computer Village to Katangowa

The Lagos State Government has reaffirmed that plans to relocate Computer Village from its current site in Ikeja to the newly designated ICT and Business Park in Katangowa, Agbado-Oke-Odo, remain firmly on course.

Permanent Secretary of the Office of Urban Development, Arc. Gbolahan Oki, disclosed this during a recent stakeholders’ meeting held in Alausa.

Oki explained that the Babajide Sanwo-Olu administration is committed to completing the relocation process, noting that it will finally bring an end to years of unsuccessful attempts to move the popular technology hub.

“The current site, originally a residential area, has been adversely affected by unplanned development, displacing many residents,” he said.

He added that Governor Sanwo-Olu, guided by his vision for sustainable urban development, had directed that the new Katangowa ICT Park be built to international standards to ensure a seamless transition for all stakeholders.

“The government will provide a 15-hectare site equipped with facilities such as trailer parks, hotels, banks, a police station, fire station, and other community amenities,” Oki stated.

The relocation is part of Lagos State’s broader plan to decongest Ikeja, promote urban renewal, and establish modern business districts across the state.
