A representative for Sean “Diddy” Combs has dismissed reports alleging that the embattled music mogul was caught with homemade alcohol while serving his prison sentence.
Last week, TMZ claimed that Combs, 56, had been found in possession of a fermented substance made from soda, sugar, and apples at FCI Fort Dix, a federal correctional institution in New Jersey. The outlet further reported that officials had considered moving him to another unit, though he was ultimately allowed to remain where he was.
However, a spokesperson for Combs told People on Sunday that the reports were false and reckless, maintaining that the rapper had not violated any prison rules.
“There have been several false and reckless reports circulating about Mr. Combs. He has not violated any prison rules. His sobriety and self-discipline are priorities, and he is taking them seriously,” the representative stated.
The spokesperson urged the public and media to avoid spreading rumours, noting that this was only Combs’s first week at Fort Dix and that such stories were bound to arise.
A similar statement was posted to Diddy’s X (formerly Twitter) account on Saturday, reiterating that his “only focus is becoming the best version of himself and returning to his family.”
Diddy was sentenced in July 2025 to 50 months in prison — approximately four years and two months — after being found guilty of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
The rapper and entrepreneur has been behind bars since his September 2024 arrest.
