Actress Annie Idibia has responded after coming under heavy criticism for liking a viral post made by Laila Charani, the Moroccan wife of politician Ned Nwoko, which accused her co-wife, Regina Daniels, of introducing her to drugs and engaging in same-sex relationships.
The controversy began after Laila’s explosive post on Instagram on Thursday, where she alleged that Regina introduced her to drugs about six years ago — a habit she claimed almost destroyed her marriage until Ned Nwoko intervened.
Laila further alleged that Regina had inappropriate relations with “every single girl around her” and that the actress’ ongoing rift with their husband stemmed from his demand that she stop her alleged drug and alcohol addiction.
“The only reason you are fighting my husband is because he wants you to stop your drug and alcohol addiction,” Laila wrote.
The allegations went viral immediately, drawing widespread reactions on social media. Many fans were shocked to discover that Annie Idibia had liked the post, prompting accusations of disloyalty against Regina Daniels, who once publicly supported Annie amid her marital issues with singer 2Baba.
However, Annie quickly clarified the situation in an Instagram Story post, insisting that the “like” was accidental.
She wrote: “In the process of reading the rubbish that was alleged about my baby, Regina, I liked the post mistakenly. Over here, we don’t play with loyalty, and my baby knows I have her back, front and side. Make una rest abeg.”
