Raheem Sterling Targeted in Home Break-In for Second Time in Two Years

England and Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling has been the victim of another home break-in, marking the second such incident in two years.

The attack occurred around 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 8, at Sterling’s residence, just an hour before Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge. The 29-year-old footballer and his children were reportedly at home when masked intruders broke in.

According to reports, the burglars were startled upon realizing Sterling was present, leaving the property without stealing any valuables. Fortunately, no one was harmed, and a police report has been filed.

A spokesperson for the player confirmed the incident, stating:

“We can confirm that Raheem Sterling was the victim of a home break-in this weekend. He and his children were present at home at the time. Whilst this is the ultimate violation of privacy and safety, we are thankful that he and his loved ones are safe. We ask that their privacy be respected at this challenging time.”

This is not the first time Sterling has faced such an ordeal. During the 2022 FIFA World Cup, his former home in Surrey was also burglarized while he was on international duty. Following that incident, one suspect was charged with 33 counts of conspiracy to commit burglary.

The latest break-in highlights growing security concerns among top-flight footballers in England, with reports suggesting that several have begun hiring ex-MMA fighters and private security teams to safeguard their families and properties.

Sterling has endured a challenging spell at Chelsea, where he has fallen out of favour under manager Enzo Marescaafter a loan stint with Arsenal last season.
