Actress Regina Daniels has fired back at her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, after he alleged that her siblings and close friends supplied her with illegal substances and sabotaged her rehabilitation.
Taking to Instagram in the early hours of Sunday, the Nollywood star denied the claims, accusing the lawmaker of lying to the public in a bid to cover up deeper issues in their troubled marriage.
“Ned, how could you lie so openly and without even small remorse? You know my family has absolutely nothing to do with this. You have always tried to cut them off because of the bond we share, and now you are trying to make them look bad for no reason,” Regina wrote.
While admitting to previous drug use, Regina alleged that Nwoko was using her past against her as a tool for control.
“Fine, I did drgs. So what? Is that even the issue between us? The moment we had a fight, you rushed to the public shouting drgs because you knew it would make a perfect story for the media,” she stated.
The actress further accused the senator of coercion and emotional manipulation, claiming he often tried to isolate her from friends and family.
“You want to find a reason to arrest everyone around me so that I will have no one left beside me… Then, when I’m completely isolated and broken, I will be forced to come back to you,” she alleged.
Regina also claimed that Nwoko would seize her phones, confine her, and label her “mentally unstable” whenever she resisted his control.
“Why don’t you also tell them how you lock me up and tell doctors to inject me with dr*gs meant for people with bipolar disorder?” she wrote.
The actress went on to question the legality of their marriage, stating that no formal documents were ever signed.
“I would have filed for divorce long ago if there was ever a legal marriage between us. We were never married in any court of law, and no documents were signed. Leave me alone,” she declared.
In another post, Regina expressed regret over trusting the senator and vowed to take legal action.
“My name is ruined for now but I will rewrite my story! … Now that I have let the one thing you have on me out, what else? It’s time to fight with all of me in court! I’m not backing down now, you narcissistic manipulative bast*rd,” she wrote.
Her outburst follows Nwoko’s recent public accusations that her brothers, Sammy and Lawrence Daniels, introduced her to drugs and disrupted her recovery process.
Regina Daniels and Ned Nwoko, who tied the knot in 2019, share two children together. Their marriage has been under intense public scrutiny in recent weeks following the series of explosive social media exchanges between the couple.
