A second individual has now been linked to the tragic death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose body was discovered in the trunk of singer D4vd’s Tesla in September.
According to a new report by TMZ, LAPD homicide detectives have triangulated the latest suspect’s phone and social media activity to the Hollywood Hills location around the same time Rivas Hernandez died.
Los Angeles-based criminal defense attorney Mark Geragos, speaking on TMZ’s 2 Angry Men podcast, revealed that the unidentified person may have been inside the singer’s vehicle where the teen’s remains were found.
Geragos further disclosed—citing sources—that investigators are closely examining a mysterious late-night trip the “Romantic Homicide” singer allegedly took to a remote part of Santa Barbara County last spring, calling it a central piece of the ongoing investigation.
D4vd is currently being eyed as a suspect in the case. Police sources told KABC that detectives believe D4vd may have played a role in the teen’s death, after her decomposed body was located in Los Angeles earlier this year.
The medical examiner is still working to determine an exact cause of death, though progress has been hindered by the severe state of decomposition.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.
