Tory Lanez Fined $20K for Refusing to Testify in Megan Thee Stallion Defamation Case

Tory Lanez

Tory Lanez’s legal challenges continue to deepen as the incarcerated rapper has been found in contempt of court and fined $20,000 for refusing to answer questions during a jailhouse deposition. The deposition forms part of Megan Thee Stallion’s ongoing defamation lawsuit against blogger Milagro Gramz.

According to newly obtained court documents, Tory Lanez declined to respond to multiple inquiries tied to allegations that Gramz circulated misleading and damaging narratives about Megan, the 2020 shooting, and the subsequent 2022 trial—claims that include suggestions that Tory Lanez financially supported the blogger’s commentary.

During the deposition, the Luv rapper reportedly dismissed the consequences of his noncompliance, stating:
“Whatever the fines are, I’ll pay them. I’m a millionaire. I don’t care.”

Lanez had previously attempted to avoid testifying in the civil case, but a judge denied that request, meaning he is legally obligated to participate. With his continued refusal to cooperate, additional fines or sanctions are expected.

The rapper—who is currently serving a 10-year sentence for the 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion—had his latest appeal denied earlier this year. Barring any successful future legal efforts, Lanez is projected to remain behind bars until 2033.
