Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has publicly clashed with actor and matchmaker Lege Miami, issuing a stern warning after Lege allegedly mentioned his late father in an online commentary.
The dispute escalated after Nwabali privately messaged Lege Miami on Instagram, demanding that he stop invoking his deceased father’s name while creating content. In the strongly worded DM, Nwabali expressed deep anger and hurt, stressing that such remarks crossed a personal boundary.
Nwabali wrote:
“LegeMiamii, remove my late dad’s name from your mouth if you’re doing your content. If you don’t respect people’s dad, you should learn to respect the dead. I’m not your regular type of footballer. I’ll beat you mercilessly. You’re free to insult me, but leave my late dad out of it.”

His message underscored not only his outrage but also the emotional weight of bringing a deceased parent into online banter.
In response, Lege Miami sent a lengthy voice note in which he first apologized for referencing Nwabali’s father. However, he quickly shifted to criticizing the goalkeeper’s conduct on the pitch, accusing him of being domineering and dismissive of team instructions. According to Lege, Nwabali acts like a “big man,” a behavior he claimed affects team harmony.
Lege Miami also took issue with Nwabali reaching out directly, suggesting the footballer had no right to confront him in that manner.
He warned:
“Don’t ever come to my DM again. If not because of Osimhen and Bassy, I would rubbish you.”
He further urged Nwabali to publicly apologize to Nigerians, implying the goalkeeper needed to show more humility and respect in handling the dispute.
The confrontation has since stirred heated reactions online, with fans weighing in on both sides as the disagreement continues to unfold.
