Popular Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile has shared his reasons for avoiding financial investment in emerging musical talents.
Speaking on the Adesope Live show, the rapper described investment in up-and-coming artistes as a high-risk venture, noting that there is no guarantee such efforts will produce returns. He stressed that his priority in the music industry is financial security and long-term stability.
“I would rather go buy a house than put money on these artistes that I’m not sure will be successful or not,” Zlatan said.
“The reason I am making music is for financial stability. My goal is to be responsible and financially stable. In the beginning of my career, I wasn’t balanced. I suffered from pressure and anxieties.”
Despite his reluctance to fund new artistes, Zlatan emphasized that he remains open to collaborations. He noted that he received similar support during his own rise and is committed to extending that courtesy to younger musicians seeking opportunities.
