Award-winning Nigerian singer Asake has paid a courtesy visit to Ghana’s President, John Mahama, during his stay in the country for his concert.
The meeting, which has since drawn attention online, took place in Accra and was attended by Asake’s crew and several prominent figures.
A circulating video captured the moment the singer exchanged pleasantries with President Mahama, who jokingly asked if Asake was the artiste for whom one of his citizens allegedly fired a gun in celebration.
The interaction followed their encounter at a Supercar event in Accra, where Asake reportedly made a passionate appeal to the president, calling for leniency and the release of the individual who was arrested for firing celebratory shots in his honour.
The incident had earlier sparked conversations on social media after reports emerged that a man was detained for discharging a firearm during Asake’s visit.
Also present at the meeting were billionaire Ibrahim Mahama, business magnate Sam Jonah, entrepreneur Richard Ni Armah, and Ghanaian actor and politician John Dumelo.
Asake’s visit and engagement with top Ghanaian figures have further highlighted his growing influence and popularity across Africa.
