Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has claimed that publicly attacking him is the easiest way to make money from the Rivers State Government.
Wike made the remark on Saturday during a briefing with stakeholders from Ahoada East and Ahoada West Local Government Areas, held after a thanksgiving ceremony for former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche, in Ochigba community, Ahoada East LGA.
According to the former Rivers State governor, the state has long been treated as a “cash cow” in Nigerian politics. He alleged that individuals who publicly criticize or threaten him are often rewarded financially.
The FCT minister said that merely declaring “enough is enough for Wike” or threatening to “deal with Wike” is enough to attract financial benefits, adding that such statements often lead to funds being released.
The event was attended by several political figures, including Senators Magnus Abe, Philip Aduda, Wilson Ake and Olaka Wogu, as well as members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ahoada East and Ahoada West LGAs.
