Betty Irabor (born on March 25, 1957, 68 years old) is from Edo State, Nigeria.
She was born to a humble family of five children: a father who was a committed police officer and a mother, an excellent seamstress, who raised her as the second of the five.
After doing well in school, Betty Irabor attended the University of Lagos, where she majored in English and developed an interest in journalism, which later became her career.
Career
In the 1980s, Betty Irabor began her career as a feature writer and assistant editor at National Concord Newspapers. She later took on public relations positions at Haisha Investment Company and Ruyi Communications, a company she and her husband founded.

Genevieve magazine was a ladies’ magazine that was missing in the market, and seeing this, Betty took a very courageous step of starting the magazine in her residential area in Lekki in 2003 and grew it to the top African lifestyle magazine with ten issues published annually, and it was all about fashion, beauty, and inspiration.
Betty Irabor was recognized as the Most Accomplished Female Publisher by the Association of Professional Women Bankers in 2011. She then moved to writing books, including Dust to Dew, and also hosted the engaging talk show Life’s Lessons with Betty Irabor.
The Genevieve Foundation’s annual Pink Ball is the platform she has used since 2005 for breast cancer awareness and fundraising. Her keynote speech at the Africa Women Innovation & Entrepreneurship Forum was part of her consistent advocacy for wellness and entrepreneurship.
