American singer and songwriter Ciara Wilson has described her recent visit to Lagos and participation in Lagos Fashion Week as a major highlight of her year.
The Grammy Award-winning artiste shared her experience in a post on Instagram on Tuesday, accompanied by a video montage from her time in the city.
“One of my highlights of the year was Lagos Fashion Week,” Ciara wrote. “Walking in a show, walking the trading room floor with the Governor, and meeting some of Nigeria’s most talented designers.”
Ciara arrived in Lagos in late October to participate in the 15th edition of Lagos Fashion Week, an annual event organised by Style House Files that showcases African fashion and creative talent.
During her stay, she joined Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Nigerian Exchange Group, where she toured the trading floor as part of official engagements tied to the event. She also walked the runway at the fashion shows, drawing attention from fans and industry stakeholders.
Beyond the fashion week activities, Ciara explored several cultural landmarks, local markets, and art centres across Lagos. Videos from her visit showed her interacting with residents and wearing traditional Nigerian fabrics.
The singer praised the vibrancy of Lagos’ creative industry and reflected on the transformation she has observed in the city over the years, noting the growing global influence of Nigeria’s fashion and arts scene.
