Nigerian celebrity car dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, has been cleared of any involvement in the death of his late wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, after a court discharged and acquitted him.
The ruling was delivered on Monday, December 15, 2025, bringing an end to a legal battle that lasted nearly three years. IVD had faced allegations from Bimbo’s family, who accused him of being responsible for her death.
The development was made public by IVD’s new partner and self-styled relationship expert, Blessing CEO, who shared the news on her Instagram page. She described the acquittal as the end of years of pain, controversy, and what she called false narratives surrounding the case.
“Discharged and acquitted 15th December 2025. It ended in praise.
Four years of tears and false narratives.
Nigeria justice system still works.
I’m proud of my country. IVD, you can now have your life back. Congratulations,” she wrote.
Blessing CEO also used the moment to advise people in unhappy relationships or marriages to prioritise their safety and wellbeing.
“If marriage or relationship no dey work, please run ooooo, run ooooo, don’t wait for anybody to pass. Run,” she added.
IVD’s acquittal officially closes one of the most controversial domestic cases to dominate Nigerian social media in recent years, drawing mixed reactions from the public as debates around the incident continue online.
