British singer Jessie J has described 2025 as “one of the hardest but most magical years of her life” in a deeply personal reflection shared on social media.
The Price Tag hitmaker, who publicly revealed her early-stage breast cancer diagnosis in June, opened up about the emotional toll of the year in an Instagram Stories post on Tuesday.
Sharing a teary-eyed selfie, the 37-year-old reflected on the contrast between public positivity and private struggles.
“In a world full of ‘everything is fine, I’m happy, I’m good, life is perfect’ there is (grief), hurt, pain, sadness, heartbreak and reflection and processing happening this time of year for many of us, alongside the good and great or on its own,” she wrote.
“This year has been heavy and hard in many ways for all of us. For me personally one of the hardest but most magical years of my life. Personally and professionally.”
Jessie J further admitted that since taking a break from work for the first time in months, a wave of emotions has surfaced, leaving her feeling particularly low.
“So I’m crying a lot. Writing s**t down feeling really low tbh. The lowest I have felt in a while. An accumulation of stuff just making its way to the surface and I’m letting it out,” she said.
Jessie J went on to reassure her followers that expressing emotions is both healthy and normal, stressing that constant happiness is unrealistic.
“Sending love to anyone feeling this way too right now. No positive end to this. Just I’m with ya. It’s s**t sometimes,” she added.
The singer underwent a mastectomy shortly after announcing her diagnosis and is expected to have a second surgery in the near future.
Despite the challenges, Jessie J has also experienced a significant professional year, marked by the release of Don’t Tease Me with a Good Time, her first album in seven years.
