Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman has thanked Nigerian fans for their support following the team’s thrilling 3–2 victory over Tunisia on Saturday night.
Lookman delivered an outstanding performance in the match, scoring once and providing two assists to earn the Man of the Match award against the Carthage Eagles.
The win secured Nigeria’s place in the round of sixteen, with the Super Eagles set to face Uganda in their final group game, a fixture that will have little impact on their qualification hopes.
Speaking after the match, Lookman praised the team’s overall display, particularly in the first half.
“We’re in the right direction. I think today we were outstanding from the first half into the second half. They had a spell where they scored two goals, but apart from that, we were very good today,” he said.
The Atalanta star, who also played a key role in Nigeria’s opening win over Tanzania, urged fans to continue backing the team.
“Keep supporting us. We really need you. Keep being behind us, keep driving us and keep supporting us. Thank you,” Lookman added.
