Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo has raised concerns over what he described as a growing shortage of quality men, warning that many women may find it increasingly difficult to find suitable partners for marriage.

The relationship counsellor and marriage coach shared his thoughts in a post on X, where he stated that the gap between men and women, in terms of preparedness and quality for marriage, appears to be widening.

“Ladies and gentlemen, we have a crisis!” Okonkwo wrote.
“I’m very concerned about the quality of men out there these days. I stand to be corrected, but it seems the gap between men and women in terms of quality is widening. It’s getting harder to find solid men.”

According to him, many men are no longer equipped to lead or marry women of the current generation.

“A lot of men I see can’t lead or marry the women of this generation,” he added.

Pastor Okonkwo further explained that there are three different types of marriages, noting that the cultural model remains the most common in Africa. He said this system worked in the past due to certain societal conditions that no longer exist.

“The cultural is more common with Africans, and it thrived in the past because women were not given so much access to education and most didn’t work. Men also largely married with long age differences to make submission easier,” he explained.

He pointed out that these dynamics have changed significantly, making marriage more challenging for men in the present era.

His remarks have sparked conversations online, with social media users debating gender expectations, leadership in marriage, and the evolving dynamics of modern relationships.
