Nigerian actor Timini Egbuson has sparked widespread online debate following his recent comments on support, entitlement, and expectations within the creative space.

In a post shared on X, the Nollywood star stated that no one is owed support and urged people to let go of what he described as a false sense of entitlement as 2025 approaches. According to Timini, support should be freely given, not demanded.

He explained that whenever he supports others, it comes from the heart and without expectations, adding that he believes the universe rewards genuine actions in other ways.

“Nobody owes anybody support. Drop the entitlement mentality going into 2025. When I support, it’s from the heart, with no expectations. The universe always finds a way to reward me,” he wrote.

However, his stance did not sit well with everyone. One X user pushed back, arguing that support should be reciprocal and that people you have supported also owe you support in return.

The exchange quickly gained traction online, with many weighing in on whether support in creative industries should be voluntary or mutually expected.

The debate was further fueled when an earlier statement by Timini resurfaced. In a previous tweet, the actor expressed disappointment that musicians do not support Nollywood as consistently as actors support the music industry, suggesting there should be more mutual backing across creative sectors.

The contrasting views have continued to generate discussion, with fans and industry observers divided on where the line should be drawn between goodwill and reciprocity.
