Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS), Mr. Michael Ango, with immediate effect.
The announcement was made late Friday through a statement issued by Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
According to the statement, the minister has directed the most senior official within the FCT-IRS to immediately assume leadership of the revenue agency.
“The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has sacked the Acting Executive Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service, Mr Michael Ango,” Olayinka said.
He added that “the most senior official of the FCT-IRS has been directed to take over the running of the revenue agency with immediate effect.”
No reason was provided for Ango’s removal, as the statement did not elaborate on the circumstances surrounding the decision.
