Actress Yvonne Jegede is celebrating two decades in Nollywood, marking the milestone with gratitude, reflection, and a renewed sense of purpose.
On Sunday, she shared an anniversary post on Instagram, writing:

Yvonne began her acting journey in 2004 with Missing Angels, and over the years, she has appeared in major productions such as Okafor’s Law and 10 Days in Sun City.
In 2015, she expanded into film production with 3 is Company, further establishing her footprint behind the camera. To commemorate her 20-year journey, the 42-year-old also hosted a celebration party.
Reflecting on her career in a recent interview, Yvonne expressed deep appreciation for her growth and longevity in the industry.
“The emotions I feel when I reflect is just fulfillment, gratitude and love. Some of the people that got into the industry the same time with me are no longer here, so I’m grateful for the grace that has brought me this far and kept me relevant,” she said.
She described this moment as a rebirth, adding:
“It’s really a rebirth because the last 20 years seemed to have been a period of self-discovery… I am now ready to show that part of me to the world. Every rebirth comes with new vision and renewed gusto.”
As part of her anniversary plans, Yvonne is launching a foundation dedicated to educating 5,000 children over the next five years and empowering 100 single parents with business support within two years.
Yvonne’s rise to fame began with her memorable appearance in 2Baba’s iconic African Queen music video, which brought her widespread visibility.
Although initially unsure about taking the role, she later acknowledged it as a turning point that opened multiple doors in Nollywood. Her standout performances in films like Okafor’s Law and 10 Days in Sun City further cemented her status as a versatile and respected actress.
