Big Brother Naija star Adekunle Olopade, popularly known as Adekunle, drew widespread online reactions after asking actress Annie Idibia about her relationship status during a stage appearance at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) in Lagos.
The moment occurred while both personalities were on stage, presenting an award. In a lighthearted exchange, Adekunle turned to Annie and asked, “Just before we present the award, I just wanted to find out, are you single?”
Annie responded with laughter and a compliment, saying, “He is a fine young man though, I’m not going to lie.”

The interaction gained further attention when Adekunle mentioned the name “Innocent,” a reference to Nigerian music star Innocent Idibia, Annie’s estranged husband, popularly known as 2Baba. Annie’s brief reaction to the mention sparked renewed conversations online.
Annie Idibia and 2Baba married in 2012 and have two daughters together. In January 2025, the singer announced that their marriage had ended and confirmed that divorce proceedings were ongoing.
Months later, Annie publicly identified herself as single while presenting at the Headies Awards, where she also reverted to her maiden name, Annie Macaulay.
The on-stage interaction with Adekunle has since circulated widely on social media, with many viewers describing it as playful and harmless banter, while others linked it to Annie’s recent public statements about her personal life.
