Bournemouth ended Liverpool’s 13-game unbeaten Premier League run with a dramatic 3–2 victory at the Vitality Stadium, sealed by Amine Adli’s 95th-minute winner on Saturday.

The Cherries raced into a strong position thanks to first-half goals from Evanilson and Alex Jimenez, but Liverpool clawed their way back through Virgil van Dijk and Dominik Szoboszlai.

Just as the contest appeared destined for a draw, Adli struck with virtually the final kick to hand Bournemouth only their second win in 15 matches and spark jubilant scenes among the home fans.

The defeat will intensify scrutiny on Liverpool manager Arne Slot, with the Reds now winless in five league games and at risk of dropping out of the Premier League’s top four once Sunday’s fixtures are completed.

Liverpool dominated possession throughout but were punished for two costly defensive lapses in a seven-minute spell before the break. Van Dijk was caught out attempting to deal with Marcos Senesi’s long ball, allowing Alex Scott to cross for Evanilson, who smashed home the opener.

The situation worsened when Joe Gomez was injured attempting to block the goal, leaving Liverpool temporarily down to 10 men. Moments later, Bournemouth struck again as Milos Kerkez failed to track Jimenez, who slipped in behind to score his first goal for the club.

Liverpool responded after the interval, with Van Dijk redeeming himself by powering in a header from Szoboszlai’s corner. Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola replaced Kerkez at half-time, amid transfer speculation linking the defender with a move away.

The visitors continued to push and finally drew level when Szoboszlai fired home a superb strike, using a clever flick from Cody Gakpo to create the angle.

Both sides had chances to win it late. Alisson Becker made an outstanding save to deny Ryan Christie, while Evanilson missed a golden opportunity by dragging his shot wide. At the other end, Bournemouth goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic kept out Florian Wirtz.

Bournemouth were ultimately rewarded for their ambition when Adli slammed home from a tight angle after Liverpool failed to properly clear a long throw.

The result lifts Bournemouth to 13th in the table, moving them 10 points clear of the relegation zone, while Liverpool’s shaky league form continues despite their midweek Champions League success.
