Victoria Beckham’s 2001 Single Tops UK Charts 25 Years After Release

In a surprising chart twist, Victoria Beckham’s 2001 solo single Not Such An Innocent Girl has climbed to the top of the UK charts nearly 25 years after its release, emerging as the best-selling single of the week, according to the Official Charts.

Driven by renewed fan support following Brooklyn Beckham’s recent social media revelations about the Beckham family, the track surged to Number 1 on both the Official Singles Sales Chart and the Official Download Chart. The achievement marks Victoria’s first solo chart-topper outside of the Spice Girls.

Official Charts Company data shows sales and streams of the song skyrocketed by an eye-watering 19,615% week-on-week. However, despite the massive boost, the resurgence was still not enough to break into the Official Singles Chart Top 100, which factors in a broader mix of streaming metrics.

Originally released in 2001, the glossy pop-R&B track—famous for its Y2K-era flair and a lyric referencing a “secret rose tattoo”—previously peaked at Number 6 on the Official Singles Chart. It remains one of four Top 10 solo hitsscored by Posh Spice during her post–Spice Girls career.
