Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bimbo Ademoye has escalated her allegations of copyright infringement, declaring her resolve to pursue legal action over what she described as the theft of her intellectual property.
In a detailed post shared on her Instagram page, Ademoye explained that she deleted earlier posts on the issue following advice from her management. She clarified that the controversy began after she discovered that monetisation had been removed from her movie, Where Love Lives.
According to the actress, a song used in the film—one she said she fully owns and used with the artiste’s complete approval—was allegedly lifted and falsely claimed by an individual identified as Emmanuel Davies. She alleged that the individual filed copyright claims on the song, leading to the removal of monetisation and effectively redirecting revenue from the movie to himself.
Bimbo Ademoye stressed that she operates professionally and conducts due diligence before releasing any project, adding that she pays for all soundtracks used in her films. She described the situation as disturbing, questioning how someone could allegedly steal her song and present it as their own.
The actress revealed that she has reported the matter to the authorities and vowed not to relent until justice is served. She also appealed to the public for any useful information about Emmanuel Davies, requesting that such details be sent via email to assist ongoing investigations.
In a related development, Bimbo Ademoye referenced a previous copyright dispute involving another individual, Anwuli, over her film To Be a Friend. She disclosed that she declined an offer to settle that matter out of court, insisting that the case proceed through legal channels.
According to Bimbo Ademoye, the earlier incident resulted in the loss of a movie that had amassed over six million views, adding that she is determined to see the current matter concluded with a court judgment.
