According to her, the airline showed little empathy, remorse, or clear communication throughout the ordeal, leaving her stranded with no concrete information on when she would be able to fly.

Faced with continued uncertainty, Bolaji said she had no choice but to abandon air travel and journey by road, despite the security risks involved.

Expressing her anger in a strongly worded post, she wrote:
“United airline @flyunitednigeria is so sad in 2026, that basic human decency and service fully paid for doesn’t matter!!!! If you are a frequent flyer please and please avoid this airline. It’s a shame!!!!!!”

The incident comes shortly after another Nollywood actress, Simi Drey, publicly criticised an airline over a separate travel experience abroad.

Simi disclosed that she was stranded in South Africa for more than 24 hours despite holding a confirmed business-class ticket.

According to Simi, she was repeatedly denied boarding due to internal errors by the airline and its operating partner.

She added that airline staff later offered her an economy-class seat only if she agreed to a “voluntary downgrade” and waived her right to compensation.

A breastfeeding mother, Simi described the experience as especially distressing and called for urgent accountability from the airline.
