Sean “Diddy” Combs is reportedly dealing with internal strain as some employees and associates allege delayed payments during his time in federal custody, claims his representatives have firmly rejected.
According to sources cited by TMZ, Diddy’ finances are currently being overseen by business management firm Tri Star Sports & Entertainment while he serves his prison sentence. The sources claimed that the firm has placed tight controls on his funds, a situation said to have caused frustration among individuals working for the music mogul.
It was further alleged that some lawyers handling Combs’ multiple civil cases have not received payment, alongside other staff members. One person was reportedly forced to resign due to the alleged failure to pay outstanding fees.
Diddy’s ’ representative, Juda Engelmayer, however, dismissed the allegations, insisting that all obligations are being met. He stated: “People, personnel, and attorneys are all being paid, and no one is leaving.”
Addressing concerns about possible delays, Engelmayer added: “Sean Combs controls his own finances. Everyone gets paid for their work once it’s completed and confirmed, after routine review.”
The report also revealed that Diddy’ family allegedly does not have unlimited access to his funds. Instead, they are said to operate within a fixed budget approved by Tri Star. Any expenses exceeding the approved limit reportedly require invoices for review, which may or may not be authorized.
An example highlighted involved a family dinner in New York City on the eve of Combs’ sentencing. According to the report, Tri Star initially declined to pay for the dinner, requesting an invoice instead. The expense was later reimbursed following further consideration.
Sean Combs is currently serving a 50-month sentence at FCI Fort Dix, a low-security federal correctional facility in New Jersey, after being convicted on two counts of violating the Mann Act.
Despite his incarceration, Combs is said to remain in close contact with his family and reportedly received a visit from his son, Justin, on Christmas Day.
