Former Disney actor Matt Prokop has been arrested in Texas over allegations that include possession of child pornography, authorities have confirmed.
According to law enforcement officials in Victoria County, Prokop was taken into custody on Christmas Eve and is currently being held at the county jail without bail. In addition to the child pornography allegation, he is also facing a charge of resisting arrest.
Local outlet Crossroads Today reported that Prokop’s arrest was connected to an alleged violation of bond conditions tied to a previous criminal case, though specific details of the alleged violation have not been disclosed.
Prokop, who hails from Victoria, Texas, was previously arrested in May 2024 in connection with an alleged assault involving his girlfriend. In that case, he was reportedly charged with aggravated family assault and resisting arrest.
The former child actor rose to prominence in the mid-2000s with appearances in shows such as The Office and Hannah Montana, before gaining wider recognition for his role as Zara in High School Musical 3.
He has also been involved in past legal controversies. Prokop previously dated actress Sarah Hyland, who secured a restraining order against him in 2014 after alleging physical and verbal abuse. A court subsequently ordered him to stay away from her for three years.
Authorities have not released further details as investigations into the current allegations continue.
