Nigerian comedian Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, popularly known as Sabinus, has shared a personal account of a traumatic relationship experience, describing love as “cruel.”
The skit maker made the revelation during a recent livestream with TikToker Sandra Benede, where he said he could relate to the situation of TikTok star Peller, who has been struggling emotionally following his breakup with his girlfriend, Jarvis.
According to Sabinus, he had once found himself in a similar position, noting that heartbreak can push people into extreme reactions, including public outbursts and emotional distress.
He recounted how a former lover left him despite the expensive gifts he lavished on her, including a Range Rover, which he said he gave out of love but later regretted.
“Jarvis has finished Peller. I have been in Peller’s situation before. Love is cruel. I once gifted a girl a Range Rover because of love. She later left me. I regretted it. So nobody should blame Peller,” he said.
Sabinus urged Nigerians to show understanding rather than criticize Peller, stressing that heartbreak can be deeply painful and unpredictable.
DAILY POST recalls that the comedian also confirmed in December 2025 that his marriage to his wife and mother of his child, Ciana Chapman, had ended. The couple, who tied the knot in a private ceremony in 2023, were married for just over a year before parting ways.
