United States President Donald Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran, saying the country would face total destruction if any assassination attempt were made against him.
Trump made the remarks during an interview aired on News Nation on Tuesday, where he addressed what he described as threats allegedly coming from Iranian leaders.
According to the president, he has already given “very firm instructions” on how the United States should respond if such an attack were to occur.
“If anything happens, they’re going to wipe them off the face of this earth,” Trump said during the interview, stressing that Iran should not contemplate such an action.
He reiterated the warning while speaking on NewsNation’s Katie Pavlich Tonight, describing the alleged threats as disturbing and emphasizing that the consequences would be devastating.
“They shouldn’t be doing it,” Trump said. “But I’ve left notification. If anything ever happens, the whole country is going to get blown up.”
Trump noted that Iran has not carried out any such action, but warned that doing so would be disastrous.
“Not because of me — if they did that, they would be obliterated. That would be the end,” he said.
“I’ve left instructions. If they do it, they get obliterated. There won’t be anything left.”
