Jesy Nelson and her fiancé, rapper Zion Foster, have reportedly ended their relationship, bringing their engagement to an end months after welcoming their twin daughters.
The former Little Mix singer and Zion are said to have split eight months after the birth of their twins, Ocean and Story. The news comes shortly after Jesy publicly revealed that the twins had been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type One, a severe neuromuscular condition.
Despite the reported breakup, the pair are believed to be on good terms and committed to raising their children together. A source told The Sun on Sunday, “She and Zion remain friends and are fully focused on their daughters. They are fully united in co-parenting. Their priority continues to be the well-being of their daughters.”
Fans had earlier speculated about trouble in the relationship after noticing that Jesy was not wearing her engagement ring during a recent appearance on ITV’s This Morning. During the interview, she spoke emotionally about her daughters’ health condition.
Interestingly, just days before reports of the split emerged, Zion shared a heartfelt message on Instagram praising Jesy Nelson. Referring to her advocacy around SMA awareness, he wrote, “A poem I wrote for Ocean & Story. We are all one. Jesy addressing a huge flaw in our healthcare system is the definition of a superwoman.”
He continued, “Reality is, it’s indefensible and needs to be changed, simple. Test kids at birth for SMA in the UK now that there are revolutionary treatments available.”
Zion’s comments were linked to Jesy’s recent social media post, where she called for routine screening of newborns for SMA. The condition typically appears in infancy and can lead to severe muscle weakness, as well as breathing and swallowing difficulties, if left untreated.
Jesy Nelson and Zion Foster began dating in 2022 and announced their engagement in September last year. While their romantic relationship may have ended, both appear focused on navigating parenthood together during a challenging time.
