Paris Jackson has opened up about her ongoing journey toward sobriety, offering words of encouragement to others facing similar struggles.
The daughter of late pop icon Michael Jackson took to Instagram to reflect on her experiences over the past six years, stressing that sobriety does not automatically mean life becomes perfect.
“Getting sober isn’t always an indication that life is perfect,” Paris Jackson wrote, explaining that things became extremely difficult a few years into her journey as she had to relearn how to cope with life without old survival mechanisms.
She revealed that since quitting alcohol in 2020, she has battled several mental health challenges, including major depressive disorder, PTSD and OCD, reassuring others that they are not alone.
“If you’re dealing with this or anything similar, hang in there,” she said, adding a message of love and solidarity to her followers.
Paris Jackson also reflected on a major milestone she marked in January 2025, when she celebrated five years clean and sober from drugs and alcohol, describing her gratitude as deeper than words could express.
The model, singer and actress has since continued to build her creative career, releasing music including her debut album Wilted. She noted that sobriety has allowed her to fully experience life’s emotions — from joy and love to grief and heartbreak.
“I get to feel, I get to love, and I get to live,” she shared, describing sobriety as a path that, while difficult, has given her a deeper connection to life itself.
