Singer and television personality Ray J has reportedly been admitted to a hospital after coming down with a “severe” case of pneumonia.
According to a report by TMZ, the R&B star, whose real name is William Ray Norwood Jr., was rushed to a hospital in Las Vegas on Tuesday night after experiencing breathing difficulties and what was described as “heart pains.” A source told the outlet that medical personnel carried out X-rays and an echocardiogram as part of his evaluation.
As of the time of this report, representatives for Ray J have not issued an official statement regarding his condition.
This is not the first time the 44-year-old entertainer has faced serious health challenges. In October 2021, he was also hospitalised for pneumonia after doctors initially suspected he had contracted Covid-19.
The reported hospitalisation comes amid a turbulent period in Ray J’s personal life. Last November, he was arrested following allegations that he pulled a gun on his estranged wife, Princess Love, during a Thanksgiving incident that was livestreamed. During the episode, he claimed he was having “the worst Thanksgiving” of his life and alleged that someone was trying to take his children.
Ray J and Princess Love, who tied the knot in 2016, share two children: a daughter, Melody, aged seven, and a son, Epik, aged six. In February 2024, Princess Love filed for divorce from the One Wish singer for the fourth time, after previously seeking to withdraw similar divorce filings on three separate occasions.
