Nigerian music stars Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P of the defunct P-Square, have finally put their long-running feud behind them.
The disagreement, which played out publicly during the 2023 general elections, stemmed from opposing views over Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi. The clash began after Seun Kuti described Obi as an “opportunist,” a comment that drew a sharp response from Mr P, who questioned Kuti’s relevance and success as an artist. The exchange quickly escalated into a heated social media war.
However, it appears the two musicians have now reconciled. They were recently spotted sharing a warm embrace at a Lagos nightclub, signaling an end to the rift.
In a brief exchange captured at the venue, Kuti was heard telling Okoye, “We are artistes, we can’t be fighting over politicians,” to which Mr P agreed, sealing the moment with a handshake.
Fans have since welcomed the reconciliation, praising both artistes for choosing unity over prolonged conflict.
