American rapper Snoop Dogg has come out in defence of football legend David Beckham amid reports of a growing rift within the Beckham family.
The Gin & Juice hitmaker publicly threw his support behind the former England captain after David’s son, Brooklyn Beckham, shared a strongly worded statement revealing that he has no plans to reconcile with his family following months of feud rumours.
In the post, Brooklyn accused his parents, David and Victoria Beckham, of repeatedly trying to “ruin” his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz, and alleged that they had “controlled narratives in the press” about the family throughout his life.
Reacting to the situation, Snoop Dogg, who served as DJ at Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding in 2022, made it clear that he stands firmly with David Beckham.
“David is my boy, we have been friends for over 20 years now,” Snoop Dogg told The Mirror. “We have seen each other’s kids grow up, and one thing about David is that he is a family man.”
He added that despite Beckham’s global success, family remains his top priority. “It doesn’t matter what level of success he has had in his life, there ain’t nothing more important to him than his family,” he said.
Snoop Dogg also expressed optimism that the family’s issues could eventually be resolved, noting the added pressure of living life in the public eye.
“No family is perfect, right, but when you are a family in the public eye, it’s hard—it’s even more pressure. I know the love that family has for each other, and in time, they are gonna work things out,” he said.
Brooklyn, 26, shared his statement on Instagram earlier last week. David and Victoria Beckham, who also share sons Romeo and Cruz and daughter Harper, have yet to comment publicly on the matter.
